Uljin-gun "Claim Your Unrefunded Local Taxes" ... 5-Year Expiration Period
Operation of Priority Promotion Period Until the End of February
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongwook Park] Uljin County, Gyeongbuk Province (County Governor Jeon Chang-geol) announced on the 16th that it will operate a focused period for recovering local tax refunds until the end of February.
Local tax refunds occur due to reasons such as applying for exemptions after reporting and paying acquisition tax, tax reductions following prepayment of automobile tax and subsequent scrapping or ownership transfer, and reductions in local income tax due to national tax corrections. Refunds must be claimed within 5 years; otherwise, the right to claim expires due to the statute of limitations.
As of January 31, Uljin County's unclaimed local tax refunds amount to a total of 13.66 million KRW. Inquiry and application for unclaimed refunds can be made through the simplified application screen for local tax refunds on the Wetax system.
