Yeosu-si Supports Subsidies for 251 Electric Vehicle Purchases
151 Electric Passenger Vehicles, 100 Electric Cargo Vehicles
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Yeosu City (Mayor Kwon Oh-bong) announced on the 16th that it will carry out a private electric vehicle distribution project this year to reduce fine dust and greenhouse gas emissions.
The support volume is 151 electric passenger cars and 100 electric cargo vehicles.
According to the Ministry of Environment's differential support plan for electric vehicles, electric passenger cars will receive a purchase subsidy of up to 15.2 million KRW, and electric cargo vehicles will receive 23.2 million KRW.
Eligibility for application includes citizens who have resided in Yeosu for more than three months as of the application date, and companies, corporations, or organizations with headquarters or branches located in Yeosu, with support limited to one vehicle per applicant.
However, electric passenger cars can be supported up to three vehicles only for corporations and organizations.
Individuals or organizations wishing to receive electric vehicle purchase subsidies can visit car dealerships to fill out the application form and contract.
Selection of recipients and subsidy support are based on the order of vehicle delivery and registration, not the order of application submission.
Even if the application is reviewed and eligibility for subsidy support is granted without disqualification, if the vehicle delivery is delayed, the subsidy cannot be received, so caution is advised.
Details of electric vehicle models eligible for distribution can be checked on the Ministry of Environment's Low Emission Vehicle Integrated Website.
