Bucheon-si Publishes Guidelines for Public Building Construction Costs and Construction Casebook
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] Bucheon City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 16th that it has published a casebook containing construction cost estimation guidelines based on an analysis of project progress for public buildings completed within the last five years, as well as operator interviews on remodeling construction cases.
The casebook was produced to suit Bucheon City's circumstances under the supervision of the Building Construction Department (Facility Construction Division), which has accumulated years of experience and expertise.
Consisting of two chapters and 193 pages, it presents a method for calculating construction costs per square meter as of last year by adding inflation rates to the input construction costs for 128 cases ranging from new building construction to remodeling.
It also includes the results of site visits to 37 remodeling locations categorized by usage type. The city plans to update the data annually to provide ongoing information.
Until now, the city has utilized construction cost analysis data by type provided by the Public Procurement Service or Seoul City when planning building construction. However, most of the data focused on large-scale new construction cases, and the long upload times limited its usability.
