Talent is Competitiveness... Cosmax Hired About 100 New Employees Last Year
[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Global cosmetics company Cosmax Group announced on the 16th that it hired about 100 new employees last year.
A Cosmax representative explained, "This is based on the management philosophy that talent is the most important factor to overcome crises such as the rapidly changing cosmetics market, intensified competition in the information technology (IT) industry, and COVID-19, and to become a leader in the future market."
Cosmax Group conducted two rounds of open recruitment last year, in the first and second halves, and enhanced applicant satisfaction by establishing a non-face-to-face recruitment system. The number of applicants, which was around 2,000 to 3,000 annually, exceeded 10,000, and the competition rate last year surpassed 100:1.
During the recruitment period, customized content was produced with direct appearances by HR personnel and current employees through major social networking service (SNS) channels such as YouTube. In the selection process, online real-time recruitment consultations and multi-party video interviews received great responses from job seekers.
Cosmax focused on the keywords 'diversity' and 'convergence' to secure talent capable of leading innovative idea creation and open innovation. As a result, talents with various majors such as environmental and bio engineers were also selected.
A Cosmax representative said, "This year, we plan to aggressively select excellent talent by integrating the cosmetics and health functional food divisions into a dedicated team at the Pangyo headquarters," adding, "We also aim to actively respond to the government's youth job creation policies in line with the post-COVID-19 era."
Furthermore, in line with the digital innovation being promoted company-wide, Cosmax is pursuing many changes in its recruitment methods to strengthen capabilities in artificial intelligence (AI) and deep learning fields.
In particular, as part of talent development measures, Cosmax is focusing on ▲ training AI specialists ▲ nurturing customized talent by department ▲ stabilizing the non-face-to-face recruitment system ▲ recruiting global talent ▲ strengthening the selection of R&D talent in health functional foods, accelerating preparations for the future market.
CEO Byungman Lee stated, "We plan to strengthen AI technology, a core growth engine of the future, and lead the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution with global talent," adding, "This year, we will continue active investment to attract excellent talent with a double-digit growth target."
