[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Yangcheon-gu (Mayor Kim Soo-young) approved and announced the ‘Deokhwa Multi-family Housing Street Block Maintenance Project Implementation Plan’ on the 10th at 118-46 Sinwol-dong.
The Deokhwa Multi-family Housing in Sinwol 1-dong is an aging multi-family housing complex (3 buildings, 3 floors above ground, 45 households) over 30 years old. With the consent of more than 80% of the residents, a small-scale street block maintenance project was initiated. Upon completion, it will be reconstructed into a 7-story apartment building (1 building) with a total of 70 households.
The street block maintenance project is a project that renovates residential environments on a small scale while maintaining the existing street layout, roads, and infrastructure in low-rise residential areas where old and deteriorated buildings are densely located, without large-scale demolition.
Compared to large-scale redevelopment and reconstruction projects, this project significantly simplifies procedures such as designation of maintenance zones and formation of promotion committees, thereby shortening the project period. It is a project that attracts much interest from residents of small-scale aging housing complexes.
