Seongbuk-gu Youth Guidance Association 2021 Hope Ondol Warm Winter Fund Donation
Committee Members Collect Donations Together for Exemplary Youth from Difficult Families
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Seongbuk-gu (Mayor Lee Seung-ro) Youth Guidance Council (Chairman Lee Jin-guk) donated 2 million won in donations to the district on the 9th for the ‘2021 Hope Ondol Warm Winter Campaign.’
This donation was raised by the committee members pooling their contributions little by little to give a small hope to exemplary youths from underprivileged families in the community during the difficult times of COVID-19.
In addition, the Youth Guidance Councils of each neighborhood also extended their warm support. The Jangwi 3-dong Council (Chairman Kim Yeon-ho) donated 2 million won, Jeongneung 1-dong (Chairman Cheon Jae-jin) and Jeongneung 3-dong (Chairman Lee In-sook) each donated 500,000 won, and Wolgok 2-dong (Chairman Park Sung-soo) contributed 200,000 won, joining in the spirit of sharing.
The donations will be entrusted to the Seoul Social Welfare Community Chest and used to support underprivileged youths and neighbors in the local area.
The Seongbuk-gu Youth Guidance Council supports youth cultural experience activities such as annual school uniform hand-me-down events and youth family camps, promotes youth guidance and protection activities, and COVID-19 prevention efforts. About 300 guidance members across 18 neighborhoods actively engage in various activities.
Lee Jin-guk, Chairman of the Seongbuk-gu Youth Guidance Council, said, “I hope this donation will be of some help not only to youths but also to neighbors in need, and that it will provide a small comfort to those exhausted by COVID-19.”
