View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Jo Gang-wook] The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced on the 10th that First Vice Minister Yoon Seong-won and Second Vice Minister Son Myeong-su visited Seoul Station and Suseo Station, respectively, to inspect special transportation measures for the Lunar New Year holiday.
According to the Ministry on that day, Vice Minister Son, who oversees quarantine measures in the transportation sector, visited Suseo Station and received reports from Suseo High-Speed Railway (SR) on quarantine measures at major stations and trains, operation of the special countermeasures headquarters, and campaigns to prevent infectious diseases among returning and departing passengers, as well as transportation measures, while encouraging the staff.
Vice Minister Son stated, "This Lunar New Year holiday period will be a very important turning point to overcome the third wave of COVID-19," and emphasized, "Since the severe quarantine situation continues, please thoroughly manage to ensure that the special measures for the Lunar New Year holiday are implemented without any issues on the ground."
He particularly noted, "So far, there have been no cases of infection in the railway sector due to proactive quarantine measures," and urged, "Please maintain vigilance and make every effort in quarantine activities during this Lunar New Year holiday period as well."

After receiving reports on the special quarantine measures for the Lunar New Year holiday and touring the quarantine sites, he requested, "Since the entire nation is striving to suppress the spread of COVID-19, including banning private gatherings of five or more people, please ensure thorough establishment of a quarantine network without blind spots during the Lunar New Year holiday."
In particular, Vice Minister Yoon asked, "Please actively promote through announcements and other means so that passengers fully recognize and comply with quarantine rules such as wearing masks inside stations and trains, maintaining social distancing, and refraining from eating."
