10 Southern Region Airport Unions Withdraw 'Strike Plan'... Labor-Management Agreement Reached
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Ji-hwan] The union members of 10 airports in the southern region under the National Airport Union, who had announced an indefinite strike starting from the 10th, have withdrawn their strike plans after reaching an agreement with management on wages and collective bargaining proposals.
On the 9th, the National Airport Union announced that the wage and collective bargaining proposals prepared with the management of Southern Airport Services were put to a vote among union members, and the agreement was confirmed with the majority approval. The agreement includes a fixed monthly base salary increase of 50,000 KRW for all employees.

The union also stated that instead of demanding the resignation of CEO Jo Young-jin of Southern Airport Services, the agreement includes a condition that CEO Jo issues an apology. The union and Southern Airport Services management had been discussing the contentious wage increase proposal since 4 p.m. the previous day.
