Yuyong Seoul City Councilor "2021 Dongjak District Seoul City Budget Confirmed at 133.6 Billion Won"

[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Yoo Yong, a Seoul city council member active in the Culture, Sports and Tourism Committee (The Democratic Party, Dongjak 4), announced that a total of 133.6 billion KRW (Seoul city budget 118.6 billion KRW / Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education budget 15 billion KRW) was confirmed as the 2021 budget related to Dongjak-gu at the 298th regular session of the Seoul City Council.
Looking at the major Dongjak-gu related project budgets allocated this year by sector, the social education and welfare sector includes a total of 5.4 billion KRW for 10 projects such as ▲3.13 billion KRW for the establishment of a district family center ▲1.88 billion KRW for functional reinforcement of vocational rehabilitation facilities for the disabled ▲3.156 billion KRW for the entrusted operation of Boramae Hospital.
In the environmental conservation sector, a total of 28 projects amounting to 28.268 billion KRW were allocated, including ▲500 million KRW for the creation of a water play area in Hyeonchung Neighborhood Park as part of the city park maintenance budget of 2 billion KRW ▲1.1 billion KRW for trail maintenance at Seodal Mountain ▲2 billion KRW for maintenance of the badminton court in Hyeonchung Neighborhood Park ▲8.1 billion KRW for comprehensive maintenance of drainage sewer pipes in Sadang and Imok drainage basins.
The road and traffic sector includes a total of 47.242 billion KRW for 11 projects such as ▲8.3 billion KRW for the expansion of Sadang-ro ▲11.2 billion KRW for the demolition of the Nodeul north-south overpass ▲200 million KRW for structural improvements on Nodeul-ro (Daebang to Bondong area) and improvements to child protection zones ▲2.85 billion KRW for installation of convenience facilities at subway stations (Sadang Station Exit 8, Namseong Station Exit 2, Jangseungbaegi Station Exit 5) ▲and expansion of subway station restrooms (Sadang, Soongsil University Entrance, Sindaebang Samgeori, Sangdo, Namseong Stations).
In the housing, urban and urban safety management sector, a total of 28.02 billion KRW was allocated for 32 projects including ▲1.82 billion KRW for the creation of a Han River walking network from Dongjak Station to Nodeul Station ▲5 billion KRW for the construction of Baeknyeon Bridge (pedestrian bridge at the southern end of Hangang Bridge) ▲106 million KRW for the relocation and capacity increase of the Heukseok rainwater pumping station.
The industrial competitiveness enhancement and cultural tourism promotion sector includes a total of 7.625 billion KRW for 16 projects such as ▲140 million KRW for the construction of a parking lot at Namseong Four Seasons Market ▲676 million KRW for the promotion of Chung-Ang University Campus Town (Heukseok-dong) ▲2.334 billion KRW for the construction of a complex library in Heukseok-dong ▲150 million KRW for support of the memorial rites for the Six Martyred Ministers.
In the education sector, approximately 15 billion KRW will be supported for about 100 projects including ▲150 million KRW for improvement of the computer room and special classrooms at Heukseok Elementary School ▲361 million KRW for improvement of the educational environment at Dongjak Middle School ▲50 million KRW for improvement of the library and student cafeteria at Chung-Ang Middle School.
