[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] On the 9th, Sohn Byung-hwan, Chairman of NH Nonghyup Financial Group, visited the Army Maengho Unit located in Gapyeong, Gyeonggi Province, to encourage the soldiers who are dedicated to defending the nation.
Since 2014, Nonghyup Financial Group has been visiting military units every year ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday. This year, they visited the Capital Mechanized Infantry Division (Maengho Unit), which plays a pivotal role in defending the Seoul metropolitan area, delivering consolation gifts and expressing their gratitude.
In his words of encouragement, Chairman Sohn said, “I thank all the soldiers of the Republic of Korea Armed Forces who are fulfilling their duty of national defense, even while separated from their families during the Lunar New Year holiday.” He added, “I hope this visit brings some comfort to the soldiers who are devoted to protecting the country and its people despite COVID-19 and the cold weather.”
The event was conducted in strict compliance with quarantine guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
