Yeogyeonghyeop, 2021 Women Entrepreneurs Merit Awards... Applications Open Until the 5th of Next Month
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] The Korea Women Entrepreneurs Association is accepting applications for the '2021 Women Entrepreneurs Merit Awards,' which recognize individuals who have contributed to the development and fostering of women-owned businesses, until the 5th of next month.
Every year, the Women Entrepreneurs Association holds awards in celebration of 'Women Entrepreneurs Day' to boost the pride and morale of women entrepreneurs.
The award categories include ▲Model Women Entrepreneurs ▲Model Women Workers (including executives) ▲Contributors to the Development of Women-Owned Businesses and Organizations (Institutions), among others.
The types of awards include government honors such as the Order of Industrial Service Merit, Industrial Medal, Presidential Citation, and Prime Minister's Citation, as well as Ministerial Citations from the Ministry of Strategy and Finance, Ministry of SMEs and Startups, and Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, aiming to present a total of 75 awards.
The evaluation criteria for model women entrepreneurs focus on ▲contributions to the national economy through sales, employment, and exports ▲promotion of women's economic activities such as expanding female employment ▲companies contributing to overcoming the COVID-19 crisis by producing quarantine supplies.
After a preliminary review based on submitted documents and on-site inspections, the first round of evaluation is conducted by a merit review committee composed of experts from various fields. Following this, the final award candidates are decided after the government award procedures, including the Ministry of SMEs and Startups merit review committee.
