WiseApp Announces User Scale of Major Secondhand Trading Apps
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] The number of monthly users of domestic second-hand trading apps has surpassed 14 million. The app with the most users was 'Danggeun Market,' which saw a surge in users last year amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
On the 9th, app analytics service WiseApp announced the scale of users of major second-hand trading apps. According to WiseApp's survey of Korean Android and iPhone (iOS) smartphone users aged 10 and above, as of January this year, the monthly active users who used major second-hand trading apps such as Danggeun Market, Bungaejangter, and Junggonara at least once totaled 14.32 million. WiseApp explained that this corresponds to 31% of the 45.68 million Korean smartphone users aged 10 and above.
The most used second-hand trading app was 'Danggeun Market,' with 13.25 million users in January alone. This was followed by Bungaejangter with 2.84 million users and Junggonara with 740,000 users. In particular, Danggeun Market saw a 158% increase from 5.14 million users in January last year. This rise is attributed to rational consumption trends due to COVID-19 and increased demand for second-hand trading driven by home organization.
