Gwangju City Requests Investigation of Three Unauthorized Educational Facilities Including IM Mission Society
Suspected Violation of Article 49 of the Infectious Disease Prevention and Control Act
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 8th that it has requested a police investigation into three unauthorized educational facilities related to IM Mission, where a group infection occurred, on charges of violating Article 49 of the Infectious Disease Prevention and Control Act.
Following the recent group infection at Gwangju TCS International School and others, Gwangju City and the Office of Education held an emergency meeting and conducted a joint inspection of 30 unauthorized educational facilities in the jurisdiction with the city, the Office of Education, autonomous districts, and the police agency.

As a follow-up measure, Gwangju City and the Office of Education requested an investigation on charges of violating the Infectious Disease Prevention Act, the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, and the Act on the Establishment, Operation, and Tutoring of Private Institutes, while the autonomous districts plan to impose fines for violations of the Food Sanitation Act.
