Mapo-gu Opens Public Parking Lots Free of Charge During Lunar New Year Holiday
Free Access to 25 Paid Public Parking Lots in Mapo-gu from 11th to 14th...Includes 9 Facility Parking Lots and 16 On-Street/Off-Street Lots, All Parking Fees Waived
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Mapo-gu (Mayor Yudonggyun) will open public parking lots in the area free of charge during the upcoming Lunar New Year holiday.
The targeted parking lots include a total of 25 paid public parking lots in Mapo-gu: 9 facility parking lots and 16 on-street and off-street parking lots, excluding resident-priority parking lots.
The free opening period is temporary, from February 11 to February 14, during which parking users will be exempt from all parking fees.
This measure was decided to comfort residents who must refrain from visiting their hometowns during the holiday despite the Lunar New Year, and to help revitalize the local economy and commercial districts.
This year, due to the ‘Special Lunar New Year Holiday Quarantine Measures’ implemented to continue social distancing amid COVID-19, residents are expected to refrain from visiting family and relatives, making it difficult to spend the Lunar New Year holiday as in previous years.
The district hopes that by opening public parking lots free of charge, it will enhance residents’ convenience and provide comfort to residents who are exhausted from the prolonged COVID-19 situation.
