Implementation of Practical Export Training Specialized in Wando, Jeonnam Local Products such as Martial Arts, Abalone, and Seaweed Kim
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Hyunjin] The Korea International Trade Association (KITA) announced on the 8th that starting next month, it will conduct intensive export practical training specialized in local specialties such as abalone and gim for companies located in Wando-gun, Jeollanam-do.
KITA and Wando-gun signed a contract for the '2021 Wando-gun Trade Academy Education' in January and will operate a total of four export practical courses starting next month. Following the positive response to the abalone export specialized trade practical training held by KITA in November last year, the education program will be expanded to trade companies located in Wando-gun.
A Trade Academy official stated, "Unlike the existing trade practical courses, the export training will be conducted from start to finish tailored to Wando-gun’s local specialties," adding, "Among food products, seafood requires thorough preparation in hygiene, distribution, quarantine, and certification; otherwise, export itself is impossible. Therefore, this training will be a great help to local companies."
KITA explained that to operate the Wando-gun Trade Academy, they have assigned instructors with extensive experience in exporting seafood such as abalone and gim or with experience importing Korean seafood overseas. These instructors will provide education on all export-import processes specialized in related items, including trade contracts, payment settlement, transportation, customs clearance, export-import simulation, foreign exchange finance, overseas market research, and online/offline marketing.
