Kim Sam-ho, Gwangsan District Mayor, Visits Temporary Screening Center for Foreign Residents to Express Gratitude to Quarantine Cooperation Participants
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Gwan-woo] On the 7th, Kim Sam-ho, Mayor of Gwangsan District, visited the Gwangsan branch of Hana Bank, where a temporary screening clinic was set up for COVID-19 testing of foreign residents, expressed his gratitude to the bank officials who cooperated with quarantine efforts, and exchanged Lunar New Year greetings with foreign residents.
On the same day, Mayor Kim met with Jeong Min-sik, Head of Hana Bank Honam Sales Group, to express his appreciation for the operation of the ‘Foreign Resident Specialized Sunday Branch’ that handles remittances and currency exchange.
Before Hana Bank opened the Sunday branch in May 2019, foreign residents in Gwangju and Jeonnam sometimes had to travel as far as 2 to 3 hours to Cheonan or Gimhae for remittances to their home countries.
Additionally, Mayor Kim mentioned the cooperation in setting up the temporary screening clinic for COVID-19 testing of foreign residents, following the efforts on the 24th of last month.
From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. that day, anonymous and free COVID-19 tests for foreign residents were conducted at the temporary clinic installed in the bank.
Gwangsan District provided interpretation services with a multilingual interpretation team to assist with the testing.
Mayor Kim handed out ‘Multilingual Life Guide’ promotional materials and masks to the foreign residents who visited, wishing them a good Lunar New Year holiday.
