Daegu District Court Sentences 50-Year-Old Daughter to 1 Year Imprisonment and 2 Years Probation for Habitual Abuse of Mother with Dementia

The Daegu District Court, 2nd Criminal Division (Presiding Judge Lee Ji-min) announced on the 7th that A (52, female), who was charged with habitual assault on a family member, was sentenced to one year in prison with a two-year suspension and ordered to perform 200 hours of community service.
A was prosecuted for assaulting her mother B (80) violently on 12 occasions from May 2011 to November 2013.

The court explained the sentencing reason, stating, "Considering that A admitted to the crime and showed remorse, and currently lives separately, reducing the risk of reoffending."
