The bereaved family filed a national petition pleading for severe punishment, stating, "The perpetrators left the victim unconscious in a motel room, causing his death, and when they came to the funeral home, they were only making excuses."
On the 4th, a petition titled "My younger brother was assaulted and abandoned in a motel room, leading to his death. Please help ensure the five perpetrators, who were acquaintances of my brother during his lifetime, face justice" was posted on the Blue House national petition board.

He continued, "When my brother immediately lost consciousness, the group present checked his condition by sitting him up but then left him lying on the ground for about 20 minutes while they conferred, and then moved him as if moving luggage to a motel instead of a hospital," and claimed, "The five perpetrators stayed in the motel room for about 40 minutes, during which they could confirm he was unconscious, but they left the room without taking any action and fled."
He further stated, "The incident occurred around 11:30 p.m. on October 14, they left the motel at 12:45 a.m. the next day, and the medical examiner who arrived at the scene estimated the time of death to be around 2 to 3 a.m. on the 15th," adding, "If they had even answered a single call from family or his girlfriend during the long time they assaulted, abandoned, and fled, my brother could have been taken to a hospital and treated."
The petitioner said, "The perpetrators even came to the funeral home on the first day of the funeral," and added, "When the family asked if there had been a fight, they shamelessly deceived us by saying, 'There was no violent situation at all,' and 'He was seen falling due to his own carelessness while walking drunk.' When we heard the autopsy results from the police the next day and saw the CCTV footage showing the perpetrators, our hearts broke."
Finally, the petitioner appealed, "The perpetrators should be punished not just for simple injury resulting in death but under the aggravated punishment for specific crimes," and pleaded, "Please help ensure that the five perpetrators receive thorough investigation and severe punishment so they can realize how grave their wrongdoing is."
As of 5:38 p.m. on the 6th, the petition had received 44,202 signatures.

She continued, "The victim, who was my senior in middle school, was my first love. After five years of unrequited love, it finally became love, but we couldn't even spend a full four seasons together. Without a moment to soothe my grief, I plunged into resolving the case and faced the perpetrators' ugliness," and appealed, "Another trial will be held on March 5. I hope this case gains more attention then and that all five receive the punishment they deserve so that the injustice can be somewhat alleviated."
