Gwangju City Supports Labor Costs and More for Workers Participating in Social Enterprise Job Creation Projects
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 5th that it will promote a job creation project to expand the social service network and establish a self-reliance foundation through fostering (preliminary) social enterprises tailored to regional characteristics.
The budget allocated for the job creation project this year is 4.02 billion KRW, which will support part of the labor costs at minimum wage level and social insurance premiums to create new jobs in (preliminary) social enterprises.
The support targets are social enterprises or preliminary social enterprises that employ at least one paid worker, and the support period is one year from the start date of support. Companies selected for the job creation project can receive support for labor costs and part of social insurance premiums for up to 50 employees.
The support amount per person is applied based on the wage paid by the employer according to the working hours agreed upon by the employer and the worker within the scope of 8 hours per day and 40 hours per week as stipulated in Article 50 of the Labor Standards Act, applying the support rate by year. Vulnerable workers receive an additional 20% support on top of the general worker support rate.
Companies wishing to participate in the public offering project can apply by registering on the Social Enterprise Integrated Information System from today until the 19th and then applying to the social enterprise department of the autonomous district with jurisdiction over the business location.
The selection results will be announced on the city’s website at the end of next month.
