Gunwi-gun "Support for Removal of Carcinogenic Asbestos 'Slate'... Up to 3.44 Million KRW for Residential Roofs"
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Dong-wook] Gunwi-gun, Gyeongbuk announced on the 4th that it will invest a budget of 560 million KRW this year to promote the demolition of slate buildings containing asbestos, a Group 1 carcinogen, and carry out the 'Slate Demolition and Roof Improvement Support Project.'
The support amount per household is up to 3.44 million KRW for slate demolition and disposal of residential houses. For non-residential buildings under 200㎡, the full amount is supported, and for basic livelihood security recipients or lower-income groups, the slate demolition cost is fully covered. Roof improvement is also supported up to 10 million KRW.
Households wishing to apply can inquire at the town or township offices where the buildings are located from the 8th to the 19th. Once the eligible recipients are confirmed, the town or township office will assign contractors and conduct area surveys before demolition.
