[Concall] SK Telecom "5G Mid-Low Priced Plans May Cause ARPU Decline"
[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] SK Telecom's Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Yoon Poong-young explained during the Q4 2020 earnings conference call held on the 3rd about the impact of mid-range 5G plans competitively launched by the three mobile carriers on the company's performance: “In January, we launched the first case of the reservation notification system with an untact plan,” he said. “The untact plan is an online-only product that is about 30% cheaper than existing plans and has attracted significant customer interest due to the spread of non-face-to-face trends.”

He added, “Although the average revenue per user (ARPU) may slightly decrease compared to the existing plan’s subscription discount, we expect the number of subscribers to increase at a reasonable price, driving revenue growth.”
