Yeonggwang-gun Launches 'New Renewable Energy Convergence Support Project'
[Yeonggwang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seong-jeong] Yeonggwang-gun, Jeollanam-do, has officially started the installation work for the renewable energy distribution convergence support project, securing 4.7 billion KRW in national and local government funds after being selected for a government public offering project last year.
According to the county on the 3rd, this project involves installing solar power and solar heat systems in residential, commercial, and public buildings. Installing a 3kW solar power system in a house can reduce electricity bills by about 40,000 to 50,000 KRW per month. Additionally, 85% of the total installation cost is supported by national and local government funds, minimizing the residents' self-payment ratio.
The county recently signed a business agreement with the Korea Energy Agency and plans to complete installation by the end of July through on-site visits to confirm installation locations at 460 sites (solar power 2,191 kW, solar heat 309㎡) in Yeonggwang-eup and Gunseo-myeon, the first project target areas.
