On the 3rd, T'way Air announced that it signed a business agreement for the swift and efficient transport of organs harvested from brain-dead donors at the T'way Air Training Center in the cargo terminal of Gimpo Airport, attended by Jo Sin-haeng, Director of the National Organ, Tissue and Blood Management Service, and Jung Hong-geun, CEO of T'way Air.
Through this agreement, both organizations promised to cooperate in ensuring the safe and rapid transport of organs needed during transplant surgeries by ▲guiding brain-dead organ transport personnel for airplane boarding ▲allowing iceboxes for organ transport to be brought onboard and ensuring their safe transport ▲prioritizing standby passengers when seats are sold out ▲cooperating on seat arrangements to enable faster transport.
Accordingly, in the future, medical staff will carry urgently needed organs (heart, lungs, liver, blood) stored in iceboxes as carry-on baggage fixed to seats onboard.
T'way Air plans to conduct training and distribute operational guidelines to all airport branches, flight and cabin crew, and related departments to ensure smooth cooperation for organ transport, which requires golden time.
