Campaign to Refrain from Visiting Hometowns During Lunar New Year Special Quarantine Period, Including Sending Letters from County Governor to Out-of-Town Residents

With the Lunar New Year, a major national holiday, approaching and many expatriates expected to visit their hometowns, and with the designation of the ‘Lunar New Year Special Quarantine Period’ from the 1st to the 14th of this month, the county sent a letter from the county governor containing this information to expatriates on the 29th and also promoted it through SNS.
County Governor Seo Chun-su stated in the letter, “I deeply thank all our fellow citizens who have participated in strict quarantine rules such as social distancing and prohibition of gatherings of more than five people over the past year, and I earnestly ask you to take the lead in refraining from visiting your hometown during the Lunar New Year holiday and participating in social distancing so that we can have a safe Lunar New Year and welcome a warm spring as soon as possible.”
He added, “We will do our best to protect our hometown, clean Hamyang, from COVID-19 and to ensure the successful hosting of the Hamyang Wild Ginseng Expo, which will be held from September 10.”
