Sales reach 93.9 billion KRW... Record High
Public, Telecommunications, and Exports All Grow Over 20% Year-on-Year
[Asia Economy Reporter Minwoo Lee] WINS recorded its highest-ever performance last year, with public, telecommunications, and export sectors each increasing by more than 20% compared to the previous year.
WINS announced on the 1st that it posted consolidated sales of 93.9 billion KRW and operating profit of 19 billion KRW last year. Both sales and operating profit increased by 14% and 24% respectively compared to the previous year, setting all-time records. On a separate basis, sales reached 89.3 billion KRW and operating profit 18.3 billion KRW, up 19% and 36% respectively from the previous year.
In the solutions division, next-generation firewall sales increased by 72% compared to the previous year. The 100G Intrusion Prevention System (IPS), supplied to telecom companies from the fourth quarter of last year, grew by 32% year-on-year. A WINS official explained, "While we previously targeted the public, telecommunications, and export markets, starting this year, we plan to expand supply to the civilian market based on winning replacement projects for foreign security solutions of large conglomerates."
The export division achieved sales of 15.1 billion KRW. Due to the surge in traffic following the 5G transition, supply of high-end products to telecom companies and public sectors has increased not only domestically but also to Japan.
The security services division saw overall service sales increase by more than 14% year-on-year, including cloud monitoring sales doubling through collaboration with the top domestic public cloud telecom company. With expanded infrastructure investment under the government's Digital New Deal policy and increased traffic from non-face-to-face (untact) service usage, cyber security threats have risen, resulting in next-generation firewall and cloud service sales increasing by more than 50% compared to the previous year.
