[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] Changwon City, Gyeongnam, held a signing ceremony for the designation of the second phase of a women-friendly city on the 29th.
Since its first phase designation in 2011, the city has received high evaluations for operating gender governance regional specialization projects, and will continue its qualification as a second-phase women-friendly city from this year until 2025.
The agreement includes joint discovery and promotion of gender equality policy projects for national and regional development, mutual cooperation to spread gender equality culture and create women-friendly cities, and promotion and education to raise public interest and consensus on women-friendly cities.
This year, under the vision of "Gender City Changwon where everyone is happy," a five-year project roadmap will be established to fully prepare the foundation for the third phase of the women-friendly city.
Key current projects include the pre-review system for women-friendly cities, the creation of a public architecture manual, the Yi Ihyojae Road development project, and the activation project of the women-friendly city citizen participation group.
