The briefing session was held over two days with the participation of about 40 senior officials including Mayor Jo Gyu-il of Jinju City, proceeding in the order of analyzing weak points in the 2020 integrity evaluation, sharing 2021 integrity improvement policies, and pledging to practice integrity.
Based on achieving a comprehensive integrity grade of level 2 for four consecutive years since 2017, the city established special measures to further enhance external integrity felt by citizens and to supplement the insufficient internal integrity perceived by employees, aiming to achieve a comprehensive integrity grade of level 1 this year.
As integrity measures, the city will implement sending the mayor’s integrity letter, integrity monitoring, strengthening promotion of the public officials’ corruption reporting center, special management system for departments where corrupt acts occur, promoting a culture of not giving or receiving gifts 365 days a year, small-scale integrity education by rank, surveys on vulnerable areas of integrity and prevention of power abuse, non-face-to-face cyber integrity education, production of integrity posters and quotes, and integrity content contests.
Mayor Jo said, “The reason Jinju City has maintained its status as an excellent integrity institution for four consecutive years is thanks to the active interest and efforts of citizens and our public officials,” adding, “This year as well, all public officials will do their best to create Jinju as the Integrity No.1 city trusted by citizens.”
