Naver and KT Join Hands on 'Navigation'... Data Sharing Agreement Reached
[Asia Economy Reporter Buaeri] Naver and KT have agreed to share vehicle movement route data of navigation users.
According to Naver on the 24th, the company recently signed a contract with KT to mutually provide navigation service user movement route data. Naver recently revised related terms for this purpose, and these changes will take effect from the 16th of next month.
Mapppers, which operates the navigation service 'Atlan', and Naver's technology subsidiary 'Naver Labs' have also agreed to share user movement route information.
Naver has operated navigation services in partnership with Hyundai MnSoft, a Hyundai Motor Group affiliate that created 'Mappy' in 2015. Later, in 2018, Naver ended its partnership with Hyundai MnSoft and has since operated the navigation service independently, recently ending the sharing of user movement route information as well.

A Naver representative explained, "This is not a service integration, but an exchange of data with KT."
