15 COVID-19 Cases Confirmed at a Church in Gwangju
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] Fifteen members of a church in Gwangju have tested positive for the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
According to Gwangju City on the 24th, 17 new COVID-19 cases (Gwangju numbers 1479 to 1495) were confirmed the previous day. Except for two, 15 of them are related to a church located in Buk-gu, Gwangju.
Following the first confirmed case, Gwangju 1479, in the morning of the previous day, multiple positive cases were identified during the testing of close contacts. The confirmed cases are church members who reportedly attended worship services and participated in choir activities together since the 17th.
Health authorities are conducting an on-site risk assessment of the church and are considering conducting comprehensive testing of all church members.
