COVID-19 Vaccination Begins for Israeli Teenagers
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Byung-hee] Israel has begun administering the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) vaccine to teenagers.
According to Israeli media on the 23rd (local time), the four major Health Maintenance Organizations (HMOs) started COVID-19 vaccinations for teenagers aged 16 to 18 on that day. The vaccination targets are those born in 2003 and 2004, and they can receive the vaccine regardless of school enrollment status.
Israel secured a large quantity of vaccines early by providing real-time vaccination data to the vaccine manufacturer Pfizer, and has been administering vaccines for about a month. So far, out of the total population (approximately 9.3 million), about 2.46 million people have received the first dose, and about 899,000 have completed the second dose.
