Yangcheon-gu, Recruiting Next-Generation Leaders to Build a Women-Friendly City Together
Recruitment of the 3rd Women's Friendly City Citizen Participation Group, Up to 30 Members... Role in Proposing Women-Friendly Policies and Communication Channel
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Yangcheon-gu (Mayor Kim Soo-young) is recruiting the 3rd term of the ‘Citizen Participation Group,’ next-generation leaders who will create a women-friendly city together through local community field monitoring, empathy discussions, and participation in district government meetings.
A ‘women-friendly city’ refers to a region or city where women and men participate equally in local policies and development processes, with benefits evenly distributed to all residents, ensuring women's growth and safety.
The Citizen Participation Group, which will work together to create a community where the whole family can be happy from a women-friendly perspective, will take on roles such as strengthening leadership capabilities through education, participating in women-friendly contests and cooperative projects, and discovering and proposing daily inconveniences to promote the creation of a women-friendly city.
Since 2017, over the past four years, the Citizen Participation Group has supported women-friendly policies through several empathy discussions, developing women-friendly public designs and policy proposals such as the Blue Star Guide and the installation of the Haewoori Safety Mirror, as well as monitoring activities.
Any resident or worker in Yangcheon-gu interested in women-friendly city projects can apply to join the Citizen Participation Group.
Applicants can download the application form from the notice section of the Yangcheon-gu Office website, fill it out, and submit it by visiting the 5th floor of the Family Policy Division at the Annex Building (Haenuri Town) of Yangcheon-gu Office or by email (tweety375@yangcheon.go.kr) by February 5.
