Seoul Reports 132 New COVID-19 Cases Yesterday, Decreasing for Three Consecutive Days ... 6 Deaths
[Asia Economy Reporter Jo In-kyung] The daily number of new COVID-19 cases in Seoul has decreased for three consecutive days.
As of midnight on the 18th, the Seoul Metropolitan Government announced that the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Seoul increased by 132 from the previous day, bringing the total cumulative number of confirmed cases to 22,616.
The daily new confirmed cases in Seoul have remained below 200 since the 7th. The number of cases decreased to 127 on the 14th, then rose to 156 on the 15th, but decreased again to 145 on the 16th and 132 on the 17th.
On the previous day, three additional confirmed cases were reported at the Dongdaemun-gu Hyundai Sauna, bringing the total number of cases related to this location to 22. Three more cases were confirmed related to the Yongsan-gu US military base, bringing the cumulative total to 20.
Additional confirmed cases were also reported related to a nursing facility in Seongdong-gu (total 26), nursing hospitals and nursing homes in Guro-gu (total 226), child facilities in Gangbuk-gu (total 20), and medical institutions and religious facilities in Seodaemun-gu (total 11).
Other cases include 70 from contact with confirmed patients, 8 from contact with confirmed patients in other cities or provinces, 4 imported cases, and 34 cases under investigation for infection routes.
Six deaths were reported the previous day, bringing the total number of deaths to 271.
So far, 17,211 people in Seoul have been declared recovered and discharged, while 5,134 are currently in isolation and receiving treatment.
