Anyone Aged 19 or Older Interested in Regional Development Can Apply
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Junhee) is publicly recruiting members to establish a Promotion Committee in accordance with the "Ordinance on the Creation and Support of Cultural Cities in Gwanak-gu, Seoul."
The Cultural City Promotion Committee is a public-private consultative body for creating a "Cultural City Gwanak," responsible for deliberating and advising on basic policies related to cultural city creation and annual cultural city implementation plans.
The district plans to establish a broad citizen promotion system centered on the newly formed Cultural City Promotion Committee and, through cooperative governance activities, formulate a cultural city creation plan to apply for the 4th Cultural City designation competition.
A cultural city is a cultural autonomy-type policy project led by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism that aims to promote social growth and development by actively discovering and fostering the city's cultural assets to create a unique city brand. During the 7th local government term, Gwanak-gu has steadily laid the foundation over the past three years to make "culture" the core of urban development and to create a cultural city.
Representative achievements include the establishment of the Gwanak Cultural Foundation, hosting the 1000th Anniversary of the Battle of Gwiju Kang Gamchan Festival, implementing Seoul's first neighborhood bookstore direct lending system, holding cultural city forums, and enacting the ordinance on the creation and support of cultural cities.
A total of 10 members will be publicly recruited this time to establish the Cultural City Promotion Committee, with a term of two years.
Anyone aged 19 or older who mainly operates in Gwanak-gu or is interested in the development of the Gwanak-gu area can apply by filling out the application form posted in the announcement section on the Gwanak-gu Office website and submitting it to the Gwanak-gu Office Culture, Tourism and Sports Division by 6 p.m. on the 25th.
For detailed information about the public recruitment and application, inquiries can be made to the Gwanak-gu Office Culture, Tourism and Sports Division or the Gwanak Cultural Foundation Planning and Coordination Team.
