Goheung-gun Invests 11.4 Billion Won to Create a Child-Friendly Childcare Environment
New Policies Implemented Including 20% Additional Salary for Preschool Teachers, Support for Driver Salaries, and Heating/Cooling Costs for Daycare Centers
[Goheung=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Goheung County is accelerating efforts to create a ‘365 Happy Goheung, a Childcare Environment Good for Raising Children.’
On the 13th, Goheung County announced that it has allocated a childcare budget of approximately 11.43 billion KRW, an increase of about 170 million KRW compared to last year, and will implement even stronger childcare policies.
As a new initiative this year, during the eight months of extreme cold and heat, the county will provide 100,000 KRW per month in heating and cooling expenses to all 20 daycare centers in the area. Additionally, the salary support for preschool teachers will be increased from the existing 30% to 50% (with an additional 20% funded by the county), empowering 24 preschool teachers at 13 centers.
In particular, the county expects that by providing 600,000 KRW per month in salary support for dedicated drivers at 13 facilities?including rural township daycare centers with fewer than 39 children and private home daycare centers?transportation convenience and safe operation for infants and toddlers during drop-off and pick-up will be improved.
Furthermore, continuing from last year, to create a safe and pleasant childcare environment that parents can trust, the county will support daycare centers by covering costs such as air quality inspection fees, playground safety inspection fees, and children’s snack expenses, thereby helping provide high-quality childcare services.
