Gangwon-do, Promotion of E-commerce for Small Merchants 'Gangwon Jikgu'
[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] Gangwon Province will promote the Gangwon Direct Purchase distribution project starting this year to enable small merchants in the province, who have limited online access, to easily enter e-commerce.
The province announced on the 12th that "on the morning of the 13th, a memorandum of understanding will be signed at the small conference room in the main building of the provincial government office with Korea Center Co., Ltd., an e-commerce specialized company, for the 'Gangwon-type Simple Online Store Distribution Project.'"
Through this agreement, both parties plan to cooperate on promoting the registration of residents such as small merchants for 'Gangwon Direct Purchase,' building and operating the system, and constructing and managing product homepages.
The feature of 'Gangwon Direct Purchase' is that anyone with a smartphone can easily create an online shopping mall anytime and anywhere without registration fees or brokerage commissions.
Additionally, users can conveniently make payments through SNS, and after ordering products online, they can pick them up immediately on-site. Applications for 'Gangwon Direct Purchase' registration will be available from May onward.
Previously, both parties have discussed the establishment and distribution plans for the Gangwon-type simple online store and have been conducting pilot projects targeting Sokcho Market and Jeongseon Market since August last year.
Currently, 17 simple online stores are operating as part of the pilot project, and the goal is to establish 3,000 stores over the next three years.
