Two Churches in Busan Hold In-Person Services Again, Gathering Over 1,000 Worshippers
[Asia Economy Reporter Minji Lee] Two churches in Busan are causing controversy by continuing to hold in-person worship services despite repeated complaints from the district office.
On the 10th, Gangseo-gu Segyero Church held an in-person worship service attended by 1,090 believers.
Previously, Gangseo-gu had reported Segyero Church to the police multiple times. However, the church ignored this and continued to hold services.
Accordingly, Gangseo-gu announced that it would issue an order to suspend operations starting from midnight on the 11th. Furthermore, after inspecting the church, it is expected to impose administrative measures such as facility closure orders.
In Seo-gu, Busan, about 500 believers gathered in the morning of the same day to hold an in-person worship service.
Earlier, despite six complaints from Seo-gu Office, the church continued to hold in-person services, leading to an operation suspension order issued from the 7th.
