The kitchen fire extinguisher (Class K) is optimized for kitchen fires with these characteristics. It forms an oil film layer on the surface of the oil, blocking contact with oxygen and rapidly lowering the temperature of the cooking oil, thereby minimizing damage caused by the fire.
