On the afternoon of the 8th, the amended Serious Accidents Punishment Act was passed at the 2nd plenary session of the 383rd National Assembly (extraordinary session) held at the National Assembly in Yeouido, Seoul.
Starting next year, if a serious industrial accident resulting in a worker's death occurs, management who fail to properly fulfill safety obligations will face imprisonment of at least one year.

Workplaces with fewer than five employees are excluded from the scope of punishment for serious industrial accidents occurring at industrial sites.
