The Platform Labor Forum Plans Reorganization with New 'Representatives Meeting'
Delivery Service Sector Launches as 'Delivery Service Council' Under Platform Labor Forum
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] The Social Dialogue Forum for Preparing Alternatives to Platform Labor (hereinafter referred to as the Platform Labor Forum) announced on the 7th that it has established a representative meeting to promote and support social dialogue on the platform economy and labor in general, and to discuss the formation of new platform industry councils in the future. Accordingly, the Platform Forum plans to commence activities after reorganizing its operating regulations, secretariat activity system, and meeting bodies.
The Platform Labor Forum was launched in March last year with the participation of platform labor-related companies, labor unions, and public interest experts. It formed its first term (delivery service) and, after six months of discussions, signed an agreement in the delivery service sector on October 6. Based on the achievements of the first term, the Platform Labor Forum is being reorganized to expand and develop, and the delivery service sector has launched the Delivery Service Council under its umbrella. The Delivery Service Council performs tasks such as ▲ mutual confirmation of the implementation of agreement matters ▲ mediation of disputes between companies and labor unions ▲ follow-up discussions on important issues such as delivery fees and dispatch standards.
