Establishing Hazardous Material Information Sharing and Organic Cooperation System within Gwangyang Steelworks
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Gwangyang Fire Station (Chief Choi Hyun-kyung) announced that it visited the POSCO Gwangyang Steelworks Safety and Disaster Prevention Center around 11 a.m. the previous day to conduct fire prevention safety consulting. They discussed improving fire risk factors in industrial complexes, such as factory-dense areas where the possibility of large-scale fires exists in case of fire outbreaks, and matters related to safety management by major vulnerable sectors.
The meeting was held with four fire station officials including Chief Choi Hyun-kyung and five POSCO officials. The main discussion points included sharing information on hazardous materials within the Gwangyang Steelworks, analyzing causes of past accidents and devising countermeasures, and sharing information on excellent safety management policies.
