Daejeon 'Public Property Rental Fee Reduction'... 1,516 Small Business Owners Benefit with 9 Billion KRW
[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Daejeon City is taking steps to reduce rental fees for public property. The aim is to minimize the damage to small business owners caused by the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) and the subsequent escalation of social distancing measures.
On the 6th, Daejeon City announced that it will implement the "3rd Disaster Relief through Reduction of Public Property Rental Fees (January to June)."
The target group includes 1,516 local small business owners, and the total amount of public property rental fees to be reduced for them is 3.03 billion KRW.
Previously, from February to December last year, the city reduced public property rental fees by 6 billion KRW for local small business owners. When combined with the reduction amount for the first half of this year, the total scale of rental fee reductions for public property will increase to 9 billion KRW.
The reduction measure centers on uniformly applying a 50% rate to public property usage and lease fees. Additionally, the city plans to expand the scope of beneficiaries by allowing the Property Management Officer to make decisions on unspecified details and specific damage situations.
Furthermore, in accordance with the Enforcement Decree of the Public Property Act, which was promulgated and enforced at the end of last year, the city will also provide support such as a one-year deferral of public property rental fee payments and a 50% reduction in late fees.
