Gyeongbuk Province PR Ambassador Official YouTube 'BoisoTV' ... "Aiming for 500,000 Subscribers This Year"
9,500 Subscribers at the End of Last Year, 2nd Nationwide Among Local Governments Following Seoul City
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Dong-wook] Gyeongsangbuk-do announced on the 6th that it has set the subscriber target for its official YouTube channel 'BoisoTV' at 500,000 this year and will begin aggressive operations.
Gyeongbuk Province operates six types of SNS (social networking service) channels, including Instagram and Facebook, centered on the official YouTube channel BoisoTV, expanding opportunities to communicate with residents.
Last year, it won the Grand Prize (Minister of Science and ICT Award) at the 10th Korea SNS Awards, as well as sweeping the top domestic awards in the SNS field, including the Korea Social Media Awards and four categories at the Social Eye Awards.
BoisoTV, which is building a strong fan base, currently has about 95,000 subscribers, ranking second among the 17 metropolitan local governments nationwide, following Seoul.
Based on the past operational achievements and know-how of BoisoTV, Gyeongbuk Province explained that it plans to focus on more systematic management and producing impactful content.
To achieve 500,000 subscribers on BoisoTV this year, Gyeongbuk Province has established three major operational plans: ▲producing series featuring famous domestic and international creators ▲discovering youth creators based in the region and individuals capable of storytelling in various fields ▲introducing small business owners and local agricultural specialties in line with the With-Corona era.

Governor Lee Cheol-woo emphasized, "Now that the influence of YouTube has been proven, if many people come to know and visit Gyeongsangbuk-do through BoisoTV, bringing vitality and money to the region, that is the path to prosperity," adding, "We will do our utmost to operate BoisoTV as the promotional ambassador of Gyeongsangbuk-do."
