Seven Eleven Launches Two Types of 'Premium Healthy Bakery' Featuring Six Healthy Ingredients
[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Convenience store Seven Eleven is launching premium health bakery products.
On the 5th, Seven Eleven released two types of premium bakery items, "Bam Danpat Bread" (Chestnut Red Bean Bread) and "Yeonyu Cream Soboro Bread" (Condensed Milk Cream Soboro Bread), developed in collaboration with Professor Han Young-sil's Customized Food Research Lab at Sookmyung Women's University, a food nutrition expert, using various healthy ingredients.
Seven Eleven planned the premium bakery line as demand for convenience store bakery and ready-to-eat meals increased due to more frequent home stays caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
In fact, last year, Seven Eleven's bakery sales increased by 9.9% compared to the previous year. Especially, sales were high during morning hours (16.4%) and in residential areas (29.5%).
The Seven Eleven premium health bakery contains six ingredients: chestnut, brown rice, glutinous rice, potato, peanut, and yam. In addition, high-quality raw materials such as first-grade flour and Himalayan pink salt were used. The products feature a soft and moist texture achieved through 48-hour low-temperature fermentation, offering both taste and health benefits.
Seven Eleven expects these unique products to be popular not only among existing customers interested in healthy food but also among the younger generation in their 20s and 30s who follow the "Halmaennial" (Halmae + Millennial) trend.
