So Su-jin: "Lee Jae-myung, Criticizing Lee Nak-yeon in This Situation... Like Choo Trying to Oust Yoon"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Joo-hee] Rep. Jo Su-jin of the People Power Party criticized Gyeonggi Province Governor Lee Jae-myung, who emphasized 'power reform' from the New Year, saying, "The candlelight protests were not lit solely for the impeachment of Park Geun-hye," and added, "Now is not the time to prioritize a differentiation strategy from Lee Nak-yeon, the leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, but to focus on the COVID-19 crisis."
On the 4th, Rep. Jo wrote on her Facebook, "Even though 47 people have died so far at a nursing hospital in Gyeonggi Province, is it appropriate for the governor of Gyeonggi Province to write posts indirectly criticizing a 'presidential rival'?"
Rep. Jo pointed out, "The incident at Hyoplus Nursing Hospital in Bucheon, Gyeonggi Province, is the worst case of 'cohort isolation' damage," adding, "They just blindly implemented cohort isolation, and the quarantine authorities who took care of the hospital were only the Bucheon City Public Health Center and the joint head of the Gyeonggi Province COVID-19 119 Emergency Response Team."
She continued, "However, Governor Lee Jae-myung advocated for 'prompt reforms of the prosecution, judiciary, conglomerates, media, and finance,'" and criticized, "It seems he brought up a pardon theory in a 'take it or leave it' manner when it was not from Lee Nak-yeon, the 'rival,' but faced backlash within the party and tried to differentiate himself. It is worth considering whether it is appropriate for the governor of Gyeonggi Province to write posts indirectly criticizing a 'presidential rival' in the current situation."
Rep. Jo also referred to the recent mass infection at the Seoul Eastern Detention Center, saying, "The Minister of Justice, who is the overall person responsible for correctional administration, is engrossed in writing posts aimed at 'ousting the Prosecutor General' amid a third-world type mass infection at the detention center, which is no better," criticizing Governor Lee’s actions as similar to those of Minister of Justice Choo Mi-ae, who was focused on 'ousting Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-youl.'
Earlier, on the 3rd, Governor Lee wrote on his Facebook, "If the deeply rooted vested interest structure is not reformed, even a government with high public support can easily collapse," and argued, "Some criticize the Moon Jae-in administration for focusing on clearing deep-rooted evils and prosecutorial reform, but reforms of citizens' lives and vested interest structures are not separate."

He added, "Reforming the vested interest cartel is directly related to people's livelihoods, and without addressing them, any reform of people's livelihoods can easily become futile," emphasizing, "We must promptly proceed with reforms not only of the prosecution and judiciary but also of conglomerates, media, finance, and bureaucratic power."
