Video Released Hinting at Improved Rear Camera Performance of Galaxy S21
[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] Samsung Electronics has unveiled the invitation for its Unpacked event to be held on January 14 (local time). Along with the Unpacked event, which is one month earlier than usual, the Galaxy S21 will be unveiled.
On the 4th, Samsung Electronics announced that it will hold 'Galaxy Unpacked 2021' starting at midnight on the 15th Korean time, which is 10 a.m. on the 14th Eastern Time in the U.S. Since August last year, Samsung Electronics has been holding Galaxy Unpacked events online due to the spread of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
In the Unpacked teaser video, a three-dimensional square box is rotating, and inside the box, a camera presumed to be the rear camera of the Galaxy S21 is also rotating. This is interpreted as emphasizing the smoother camera design with reduced camera bump and improved camera functions in AI (artificial intelligence) and video aspects. Samsung Electronics released a video on Facebook and Instagram stories showing the Unpacked date rotating inside a transparent square box, allowing users to experience an 'AR countdown' effect.

On this day, Samsung Electronics is expected to unveil the 'Galaxy S21' series and the new wireless earphones 'Galaxy Buds Pro,' with a release expected at the end of this month. Previously, the first half of the year Unpacked events were held in February, and new product releases were in early March, but the Galaxy S21 unveiling is more than a month earlier. Earlier, Samsung Electronics' Mobile Communications Business President, No Tae-moon, officially confirmed the inclusion of the S Pen in the Galaxy S21 series, stating, "We will expand the Galaxy Note experience to more product lines."
