According to a report by Korea Economic Daily on the 3rd, a conversation related to the introduction of a plastic surgery hospital and a woman presumed to be Hwang Hana was recently shared on an online community.
According to this conversation, Ms. A, who was about to undergo nose surgery, requested, "I am considering a revision surgery and would like to receive information."
In response, Mr. B, presumed to be Hwang Hana, said, "(This hospital) is one I found after failing nose surgery three times, putting in a lot of effort and spending a lot of money," and added, "I will share everything else, but for this one, I want to receive a token of appreciation while recommending it, so please buy me something delicious," sending her bank account number.
Mr. B said, "I would appreciate it if you could show your appreciation by transferring money to my account," and added, "If you send me a screenshot of the deposit, I will invite you to the chief director (in the chat room) and even get you a discount."
Korea Economic Daily claimed that if Mr. B is indeed Hwang Hana, she could be punished for violating Article 27, Paragraph 3 of the Medical Service Act.
According to the Medical Service Act, "No one shall exempt or discount the co-payment under the National Health Insurance Act or the Medical Care Assistance Act, provide money or goods, offer transportation convenience to an unspecified number of people, or engage in acts of introducing, mediating, or enticing patients to medical institutions or medical personnel for profit, nor shall they induce others to do so."
Violations of this provision may result in imprisonment for up to three years or a fine of up to 30 million won.
