View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Jiwon] The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport announced on the 3rd that from July, preliminary subscription will be implemented for public sale housing in the 3rd new towns and some public housing sites in the metropolitan area.
Starting with Incheon Gyeyang in July, preliminary subscriptions are scheduled to be held in July-August at Namyangju Jinjeop 2, Seongnam, Uiwang, Seoul Noryangjin Subangsa site, and in September-October at Namyangju Wangsuk 2, Seongnam, Siheung, among others.
In November-December, preliminary subscriptions will be conducted in the 3rd new towns such as Namyangju and Goyang, as well as in Gwacheon and Ansan, supplying a total of 30,000 units early this year. The remaining planned 32,000 units will recruit residents next year.
The government is also promoting institutional improvements for the preliminary subscription system. The revision of the Enforcement Rules of the Special Act on Public Housing to establish the basis for preliminary subscription is planned to be completed within this month, and guidelines detailing recruitment and selection of reservation holders will be prepared by next month.
To prevent delays in move-in due to project postponements after preliminary subscription, procedures such as district planning and land compensation for the preliminary subscription target areas including the 3rd new towns will be carried out without disruption.
According to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, since the 3rd new town website was launched in August last year, the number of visitors has exceeded 2.7 million over five months, and 300,000 people have applied for the 'Subscription Schedule Notification Service,' showing very high public interest in the 3rd new towns.
The preference for new towns among subscription schedule notification applicants was in the order of Hanam Gyosan (20%), Gwacheon (18%), Goyang Changneung (17%), Namyangju Wangsuk (15%), Bucheon Daejang (14%), and Incheon Gyeyang (10%), with no excessive concentration on specific areas.
The government expects that since 40% of applicants reside in Seoul, the supply of the 3rd new towns will partially disperse the housing demand concentrated in Seoul.
The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport has revamped the existing website into a 'Comprehensive Information Portal' to provide more diverse information such as preliminary subscription for the 3rd new towns, transportation plans, and housing layouts.
