Cumulative 958 COVID-19 Cases at Dongbu Detention Center... Full Inspection Today
[Asia Economy Reporter Yujin Cho] The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced that as of midnight on the 2nd, the total number of confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) related to Seoul Dongbu Detention Center has reached 958 nationwide.
This figure includes 937 confirmed cases reported by the Ministry of Justice, consisting of 915 inmates and 22 staff members, plus additional related confirmed cases among family members and acquaintances.
According to the Ministry of Justice, as of midnight on the same day, the total number of COVID-19 confirmed cases in correctional facilities nationwide is 982. This includes 942 inmates (including released inmates) and 40 correctional facility staff members. Family members and acquaintances are excluded from this statistic.
The 14 newly confirmed cases added the previous day are all related to Dongbu Detention Center, including 13 inmates and 1 staff member.

Dongbu Detention Center plans to conduct the 5th round of mass testing on inmates who tested negative on that day. The target for this investigation is 1,128 inmates excluding confirmed cases.
