Another Journalist Terrorized in Afghanistan... 6 in Two Months
[Asia Economy Reporter Yujin Cho] Local media reported on the 2nd (local time) that another journalist in Afghanistan has fallen victim to a terrorist attack.
Mohammad Aref Abir, spokesperson for the governor of Ghor Province in central Afghanistan, stated that Bismillah Adil Aimak, a journalist and social activist, was shot and killed by assailants while in a car on the outskirts of Feroz Kohsi the previous day.
Aimak, in his late 20s, worked as the editor-in-chief at the local media outlet 'Voice of Ghor Radio.' He had previously survived two assassination attempts.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for this attack. The Islamic militant group Taliban has denied any involvement in the incident.
Tolo News reported that six journalists have been killed in terrorist attacks over the past two months. AFP counted five local journalists killed during the same period.
Previously, on November 7 last year, Yama Shiawashi, a former Tolo News anchor, died on the spot when the vehicle he was in exploded near his home, and Malalai Maiwand, an anchor working for the regional private broadcaster Enikas TV, was shot and killed near her home on the 10th of last month.
Additionally, radio reporter Aliyas Daii, Pardin Amini who worked for Ariana News, and Rahmatullah Nikzad, who formerly worked for AP News, were also recently killed.
