LiveM, Non-Face-to-Face Activation Available via KB Mobile Certificate Starting Next Year
"Mobile Phone Activation Using Private Certificates Possible Around Mid-January"
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Sun-mi] KB Kookmin Bank announced on the 31st that it has received temporary approval from the Ministry of Science and ICT to enable non-face-to-face Liiv M (hereinafter Liiv M) mobile communication activation using the KB Mobile Certificate.
KB Kookmin Bank applied to the ICT Regulatory Sandbox in August to allow non-face-to-face mobile communication subscription through the KB Mobile Certificate. The Ministry of Science and ICT approved the temporary permit for the 'non-face-to-face mobile communication subscription service' on the 29th, and accordingly, mobile phone activation using private certificates will be possible around mid-January.
Previously, when subscribing to mobile communication non-face-to-face, it was mandatory to go through identity verification procedures using a joint certificate (formerly public certificate) or credit card authentication, but now the KB Mobile Certificate has been added as an identity verification method, significantly enhancing user convenience.
The KB Mobile Certificate applies a 'one person, one device' security policy, issued only to a single mobile phone device, preventing unauthorized use by others. The certificate is stored on a USIM, a first-grade security medium, allowing easy use without reissuance procedures even when changing devices. Additionally, authentication is easy and convenient through simple passwords, patterns, fingerprints, or Face ID, and there is no expiration date, so reissuance is unnecessary.
